Executive Principal’s Report
Dear Parents and Friends,
What an incredibly busy term we have experienced, along with so many achievements and successes. These past two weeks have been filled with leadership days, sports competitions, instrumental music performances and competitions, House events and the list goes on. Our students are certainly making up for lost time!
Sustainable Futures Farm Open Day
We had a wonderful day last Saturday at our Sustainable Futures Farm Open Day. The weather was perfect, and our students really impressed everyone as they presented the animals, shared their knowledge and interacted with the public. The work that is taking place in this outdoor learning lab is amazing and we are very proud to have been showcased on EDTV for our Smart Farming initiatives.

Australian Percussion Eisteddfod and Drumline Competition
Last Sunday, we received some exciting results for our school’s first ever entry into the Australian Percussion Eisteddfod and Drumline Competition. During the live stream, the American adjudicators awarded:
- Our Drumline 5th place in Division A – a top 5 finish!
- Our Junior Percussion Ensemble Bronze certification, 7th overall in Division B in Australia.
- Our Senior Percussion Ensemble Bronze certification, 7th overall in Division A in Australia, with special mention from Head Adjudicator Dr Caleb Pickering for the great repertoire choices performed that made us stand out from all other Private Schools and specialty Percussion schools.
- Both Amy Freudenberg and Tahlia Nelson-Musgrave 5th place in their Snare and Tenor Solos respectively.
Congratulations to Jacob Hicks and hardworking students. This is a credit to Jacob and his unrelenting efforts to lift and stretch our students. What a sense of achievement – and definitely worth all that noise!
Corinda Carnivale
Our Student Leaders have been very busy assisting with the organisation of Corinda Carnivale which is taking place this Friday. This year they have decided to conduct a colour run as part of the House activities. We are certainly looking forward to a day filled with House spirit and positive culture. A great way to finish the term.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a wonderful, safe and restful spring vacation and I look forward to seeing you all at the much-anticipated term 4 celebrations.

Netball clinic with ex-Firebirds star
Netball is one of the most popular sports at Corinda and our lucky female netballers were treated to a special clinic with ex-Firebirds champion Laura Geitz this term. The clinic focused on defensive pressure and contesting every ball with Laura assessing skills during a friendly match. The session ended with a Q&A where Laura shared valuable insights into Representative Netball selection and the importance of training. Thank you to Ms Andrews and Mr Duckworth for providing our students with this exciting opportunity.

Students celebrated at QATSIF ceremony
Year 12 students were celebrated at an early graduation ceremony as part of the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation (QATSIF) scholarship program. Held at the University of Queensland, the student-led ceremony featured many highlights including school dance troupes and performers, and an inspirational speech from a past QATSIF student. Congratulations to Emelia, Joss, Trinity, Tahlia, Emma, Kyan and Tyler, and to Ryan who could not attend due to illness.
Thank you, school support staff!
School Support Staff Recognition Week was celebrated this term. Thank you to all our incredible support staff whose vital work ensures our school runs well and our teachers are supported to help students get the most out of their time at school.

Music in the Night
It was wonderful to see so many parents at school this week to support Music in the Night. Our magnificent musicians blew away the winter blues with stunning performances. There were also lots of wholesome moments of appreciation which made for a truly memorable evening for parents, students and staff. Bravo Corinda!!
Wear it purple and proud
In celebration of the diversity of our school community, students and staff fundraised for the Wear It Purple Organisation this term. Wear It Purple aims to spread awareness of the societal challenges faced by young LGBTQIA+ people by running educational workshops and presentations in schools across Australia. It was a wonderful day with everyone dressed up in purple, enjoying food with friends, and writing kindness and inclusivity pledges!
